Visit us at the historic Beard and Lady Inn for a natural light/studio portrait. The inn is located in the quiet town of Chester, AR halfway between Fayetteville and Fort Smith. There are several picturesque settings for portraits on the grounds, we can discuss beforehand any preferences. Each tintype takes approximately 30 minutes from start to finish. The exposure time for natural light portraits can vary from 1-10 seconds. Please keep in mind booking a natural light portrait will be dependent on weather conditions as we will be relying on natural light. Otherwise if you choose traditional in-studio portraiture, it’s great rain or shine, day or night.

5x7 tintype portraist are $85 (1-2 people in studio, 1-3 people outdoors/natural light)

8x10 tintype portraits are $125 (1-3 people in studio, 1-5 people outdoors/natural light)

After your portrait is taken the plate will be varnished (the last part of the chemical process). Once finished your physical plate can be picked up in person or mailed directly to you for a small fee.

We also offer a scanning service to provide you with a digital copy of your tintype if you so choose. The service is $15 per high quality digital scan.

We can take this process to you!

We are happy to travel to your home, place of business, or a desired scenic area. These will be natural light portraits taking place outdoors, so any location you choose you’ll need to keep that in mind. We limit the travel time to a 1 hour drive from Chester, AR for these bookings.

For House-Calls we start our rate at a minimum of $300, and that includes two 8x10 portraits. Additional plates can be purchased in advance or at the time of the photoshoot.

Each plate will be taken back to our studio to be scanned and varnished (the last part of this chemical process). Once finished you will receive digital copies and your physical plates will be mailed directly to you.

Our set-up is mobile! We can bring our studio on the road to a business or event near you.
